I would switch to Format Factory…(it’s free).
And it does all the converting you will need, and I’ve never had any problems with it so far. Also you should check the quality of the disc surface it may be scratch or dirty.

I had the same problem with you before. Then I switched to another zune converter, it works pretty well for me now. And here is a guide about how to use it
