I recommend that you use HandBrake to rip the DVD’s. Handbrake is freeware and it works for both mac and windows, It will recognize the different titles and you can choose which title you want to rip.
But if it’s copy protected, then you can use DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink to remove the copy protection and after that you can use HandBrake to convert the dvd to mp4, avi or any other format.

1. you need to convert your DVD to video.
2. you need to convert the converted video to iPod video/audio format.
